Phil Meadows (aka Despondo)
Phoenix, AZ, USA

My journey into music production began in the late 1980s when I received my first synthesizer, a Korg Poly-800. This sparked a passion that led me to acquire a Yamaha V50 workstation, allowing me to create multi-track compositions. The world of sampling then opened up with my purchase of an Ensoniq ASR-10.
In 2001, I discovered the Reason DAW, which has been my primary platform for composition and production ever since. The addition of Reason’s Rack Extensions and now, third-party VST instruments, has significantly expanded my musical and sonic possibilities, enabling me to explore a wide range of genres.
My musical focus tends towards expansive and cinematic pieces, but I also enjoy exploring synthwave, EDM, techno, orchestral, new age, rock, ambient, electronic, and world music, among others. I produce under several monikers such as Despondo, Nomadica, XenoMantra, Xenophase, and OneX.
Beyond music, my background includes architecture, visualization, graphic design, video production, motion graphics, photography, art, and more recently, AI imagery and animation.
Phil also helps run the DMC group
